How to unfold an artificial plant?
Receiving
The artificial plant is securely packaged to prevent damage during transport. Take the artificial plant out of the box. The plant may be tied at the bottom with rope for extra sturdiness.
Unpacking
After all packaging material and plastic have been removed, the leaves may still be upright. This is normal due to the packaging. Don't worry, they can easily be bent into shape.
Unfolding
Start at the bottom by bending the stems and branches to the desired angle and shape. Artificial plants often have metal wires in the branches and leaves, making them flexible and allowing them to hold their shape. Bend the branches into a round shape for a natural appearance. It helps to use two hands: place one hand on the branch or leaf and the other underneath to gently create a nice curve.

Spreading
After bending the branches and leaves into the desired shape, spread them apart so that they are evenly distributed over the plant. This creates a fuller appearance. You can make adjustments until you're completely satisfied with the result.
Tip: While unfolding, it’s useful to occasionally take a step back and look at the plant from a distance to see where adjustments may still be needed.
Smoothing the leaves
Smooth out the leaves, remove any creases, and shape them as desired. This ensures a natural look.
Matching pot
Artificial plants always come in a small black sturdy pot to prevent tipping. You can choose to place the plant in a decorative pot. We offer a wide range of pots and planters to complete your artificial plant!

Optional: for extra stability and decoration
- Potting: You can elevate the plant with polystyrene and secure it with expanding foam for extra stability. These items can be purchased at your local hardware store.
- Topping off: As a finishing touch, you can choose to top off the plant with bark chips. You can order these with us when you purchase an artificial plant.
- Project planting: If you want multiple artificial plants potted, modeled, and installed, we offer artificial plant projects for our business clients. We visit any location to model, pot, and place the plants and provide advice on matching pots.
- Natural look: Check the artificial plant for any unnecessary creases or folds that may look unnatural. Use photos of real plants as a reference. Observe how their branches and leaves bend and arrange naturally. Try to replicate these characteristics while modeling your artificial plant. Lastly, you can experiment with lighting. Place the artificial plant under different lighting conditions to see how the light affects the look of the leaves.
